Clare Halifax
Clare graduated from Loughborough University with a BA hons in Printed Textile Design and worked as a freelance textile designer for several years producing designs for the fashion and interior industry. This was followed by an MA in Multi Disciplinary
Printmaking from UWE where she developed her work through different print processes, eventually specialising in silk screen printing to create limited edition screen prints.
Within Clare’s practise she mainly focuses on cityscapes, landscapes, botanicals and animals with imagery gained from special places, specific areas and locations of interest.
Each piece of work starts with a detailed hand rendered pen drawing. Additional colour layers are added individually in photoshop, including any original patterns that will be
included in the final work in order to introduce colour and depth for a unique piece that evokes Clare’s signature style.
Clients have included V&A Museum, ‘Coast’ Magazine, Elle Decoration, Liberty’s, Tate Online, Farrow & Ball, Huxleys Restaurant and the Berkley Group. Clare currently resides in London where she continues to be influenced by her everyday environment.
