Liz Whiteman Smith
Liz Whiteman Smith is a screen printer and artist, currently living in London. She loves to travel around the world exploring unusual places and cultures to draw inspiration for her art. Working from a combination of her own photographs and drawings from her travels, Liz creates a series of multi layered screen prints. Liz studied Mathematics at University, her love of numbers and patterns can be seen in her designs and patterns through her screen prints. She also enjoys making screen prints that celebrate the merging of the old and the new buildings.

Art allows Liz to follow her curiosity and each project involves in depth research which she finds fascinating. Then she uses colour to create playful images, her aim is always to make people smile. Her mathematical brain enjoys the precision required to produce a perfectly registered screen print. The resulting artwork is as joyous as it is meticulous.
She is an elected member of the Southbank Printmakers Gallery, also active with the Printmakers Council and Print Club London. She has work in the Victoria and Albert museum archives and has collectors around the globe.
