What we did
Elegant Clutter was approached by brand and interior specialists Keane to interpret and deliver a concept developed for Michelin starred Manchester House. An alternative approach to restaurant art was required.
The large multi-floor restaurant and bar is located in a listed mid 20th Century building with vast windows, not all of which have pleasant views. Our solution was to use a variety of interesting ribbons, twines and cords to create a multi-coloured texture, which were threaded through supplementary box sections.
We clamped these to the timber windows to avoid fixing methods that would have contravened the buildings listed status. The same threading technique was used to wrap light shades and divider screens. All produced in our studios.
We like to challenge ourselves to think differently about art and this project was a great example of how art doesn’t always have to be in a frame.
