What we did

Elegant Clutter is hugely proud to have helped design two complementary venues for the Football Association (FA) – The Three Lions and The Lioness at Wembley Stadium.

With such prestigious projects in hand and with The Three Lions being Wembley Stadium’s first ever proper bar, the pressure was really on. Interior designer, Design Coalition, challenged us to push the creative boundaries to develop two contemporary spaces that still feel ‘local’. Fans are immersed in sporting heritage to fuel conversation before or after the game.

Using the old Wembley Stadium as one reference, we explored many design techniques, from laser-cut metal plates to deconstructed football boots.

Having exclusive access to memorabilia and the FA’s Wembley archive of artefacts, means we’ve created something truly unique. Standout art installations include a goalkeeper made from football boot studs, a supersized air-fix kit sculpture and life-sized, hand-sculpted Subbuteo players.
