International Women’s Day
The theme of this years International Women’s Day is #ChooseToChallenge on the understanding that through challenge comes change. We wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate the amazing women in our portfolio. We work closely with our artists on exciting hospitality projects around the globe. To us it doesn’t matter what gender the artist identifies as, but how well they can tell a story through their art. We are proud to have a gender equal platform but that said, we have some incredibly talented women in our portfolio that any opportunity we can take to sing their praises we will!
Harry’s Art Story
In conversation with Hotel Designs Editor, Hamish Kilburn, our Creative Director, Harry Pass, gets into the detail on what sets us aside from other art consultancies.
They tackle subjects such as the preconceptions people have of art curators and look at the role of art in hotel design going forward, post-pandemic. Harry offers advice for designers working on a tight budget and gives some fun insights into the art in his own world along the way.

Why we all need more Hope and how to find it through Art.
“Art is the highest form of hope,” Gerhard Richter
2020 was a difficult year and it was a particularly hard year for the hospitality industry. The emergence of Covid 19 and the closure of so many commercial interior spaces from restaurants, hotels to work spaces, at times it will have made the future of the sector for look bleak. Yet here we are in a new year, and while we are not out of the proverbial woods just yet, we at Art Story wanted to share with you our thoughts on hope.
What is hope? Hope is defined as a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen. Hope is the future that we strive for. It is the space between discontent and contentment. Hope is a yearning for better position than the one we find ourselves currently presiding. Therefore 2021 by its nature is the embodiment of hope. Much like Edward Ruscha’s 1998 artwork entitled Hope, where the artist has attempted to abstract the word hope by use of a spray gun. We are not out of the darkness yet but hope is present and emerging. Read More
